Are we able to get refunds please? I would still like to make the restaged date, however having three tickets' worth of money back in my bank account would be much more helpful to me at the moment now that the gig isn't going ahead on the original date.

Noone has planned as much as me and Unique! We are travelling and moving to New Zealand for a year and we put our plans back until 9th October as soon as dates were released so that we can see Tom on 8th!

Absolutely gutted, had three sets of tickets, booked ferries, round the world flights and everything based on those dates. Private solo gig at our house I'm expecting! Can't make the dates next year obviously so refunds all round. Kind of expected this to happen as we were hanging so much on those dates staying the same.

Good luck anyway Tom, we may get to see you again... :-(

Kim when I read this my first thought was actually of you. What was it, tickets bought for 8 different gigs around Europe? Not to mention all the travel and accommodation. Most of us will be slightly disappointed but get over it, but this must be pretty much your worst nightmare.

That aside it's brilliant news that Tom's got label backing as it will make a huge difference, and from his optimism it sounds like they will actually be supporting the album financially and otherwise. Which is a novelty, and also means the album must be very good. Just a pity it had to happen so late in the day.

Well maybe Tom will do so well on this record deal that he can come and do a gig in New Zealand for us... ;)

What a lovely bunch of positive people we all are! Earlier this year Counting Crows had to postpone a couple of dates due to illness and the backlash was unbelievable.

Rougeforever, Cali and I were doing Brighton, Southsea, London, Birmingham and Nottingham ;o( We were staying at Rougeforevers for the Brum & Notts gigs, and I've just suggested we all still go up and have a Tom/Brian tribute weekend on Rockband. We can stream it if you like?

Bloody brilliant! Couldn't afford tickets this time round, but by Feb things will be okay again.
Love you Tom ;)

Nice work on the record deal too!

I'm one of the people who have booked travel and hotels - including a lovely long weekend for my husband and I in Brighton for next weekend. I've looked at my booking for the hotel, and I *could* cancel it - but we've decided not to ... and we're going to go anyway and have the lovely weekend in the lovely room in the lovely hotel as planned. It's just that there won't be a Tom gig at the end of it.

The rest of the nights? We'll improvise. The only thing I was disappointed in was the cancellation of all the fun my girls and I have around the gigs - but you know, that can go ahead anyway!

So yeah, Tom. These things happen. I'm delighted that you've attracted label interest and they'll help you with the next stages. Of course I hope for a solo gig, and happy to host it in my garden (our patio makes a natural stage! ) but happy to wait 'till Feb for the label-sponsored show.

Hope they live up to their promises (we'll be watching!) I don't suppose it's Oxford's own BSM is it? I've been very impressed with what they've done for the lovely Kevin Devine. If it isn't, whoever they are should take a leaf out of Kevin Douch's book. (And no, I don't have a stake in the company, nor have I met Mr Douch - just been watching from the sidelines)

Very much looking forward to the record. Very much looking to the tour.

Paper Bag - we're NOT doing Rockband all weekend. (Though I *do* need to practice my backing vocals on Copacobana for a future Manilow-off)
There are cocktails to be drunk and fun to be had....and you know, I've got a couple of jigsaws need doing. And no, we won't be streaming any of it. The forum can sleep soundly in their beds without seeing our BOFB tributes. They'll thank us for it later.

Couldn't agree more re: BSM's work. K-Douch should be the voice of every Hotel Cafe artiste in the UK!

us too. Husband says you're very welcome here for dinner if you are still coming over!
What are you going to do?

I thought the lack of reply to the person who discovered the Belfast gig was cancelled was ominous so wasn't surprised with the news today - except for the record deal which is great news.

And certainly if Tom wants to play an "odd solo gig" (!) we could find him a community hall or church hall in EK.
